Allie Radintz

My name is Allie Radintz. I am 16 and currently a junior at Sioux Central High in Sioux Rapids, Iowa. I have been riding horses for as long as I can remember, and have been showing since I began 4-H at age 8. I must say it is my one true passion. While showing 4-H I also began showing at local Paint Horse shows with my previous horse, One Hot Rod (a.k.a Tucker). I began working with a trainer shortly before we purchased Tucker. With the amazing help and guidance of my trainer, Jeff Somers, the support of my parents, Pam and Jay, along with Heidi McGuire and everyone else in our barn, Tucker and I went on to have 4 amazing years together. In June 2008, we got 9th overall at the Pinto World Championships, then later that fall we went on to win 3 back to back Congress Champions at the Pinto Horse Congress and Futurity. For those 4 years I was a main competitor in the Hunter Under Saddle and Showmanship divisions. Last July it was decided I was ready to move on to a new challenge so my family purchased my current horse, Fancy Form (a.k.a Daquri) by All Time Fancy. Daquri and I have had an amazing first year so far. With circuit champions and multiple Top 5’s at the 2010 Pinto World Championships, and Circuit Champion in showmanship at the 2010 Reichert Celebration. I am looking forward to a great experience with this mare in the All-Around events. My future dreams are to get a position on the South Dakota State Equestrian Team and begin my courses in Pre-Nursing when I graduate in 2012.

I live by the quote, “Dream until your dreams come true”. Thank you to my family, Jeff Somers, Heidi McGuire, everyone at Somers Performance Horses, and now the Reichert Equine Foundation for helping me along to live my dream.

Thank you so very much again to the Reichert Family, the Reichert Celebration, and the Reichert Equine Foundation for this amazing opportunity!

Juliana Blackburn-Baskin

I am a Sophomore at Notre Dame High School in Batavia, New York. I am an only child, if you don’t count our chocolate Lab ‘Cocoa’. My Dad, Mom and I live south of town on our farm where we raise dairy replacement heifers, beef cattle, a few Quarter Horse foals and manufacture animal feed. I’m a Red Sox baseball fan, a New England Patriot fan, and I can watch the Buffalo Sabres, but I also like the Pittsburgh Penguins. My Dad grew up in Massachusetts, and my Mom went to school in New England, so that might explain my sports preferences. It sure makes for some interesting discussions at my school, since they are all Yankee fans!

I have been riding since before I was born, thanks to Mom (!) and I have been showing at AQHA shows, starting in lead line since I was 5. When I am not at a horse show (my non-horse friends want to know when THAT is)! I do ‘normal’ teenage things like hang with friends, sometimes go to the mall and watch movies. I love music. I am also on Facebook way too much, but its the best way to keep up with whats going on in the horse show world and with my horse friends, since they live so far away. This is the first fall that I have not taken dance, I used to do 3 to 5 classes a year, but there isn’t enough time, as I played JV Basketball last year for Notre Dame, and plan on doing so again this year. I would play Volleyball, too, but somehow the Coach doesn’t understand my need to go to horse shows all the time!

We ride with Jonathan Meilleur of Meilleur Performance Horses in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. We joke that he inherited us when he purchased the farm, like a tractor, but he can’t get rid of us! We bought my first walk-jog-lope horse ‘Invite Only Me’ from Jeff Long in the late summer of 2005. I started showing her in February, then he decided in JULY that I should start doing Youth classes and run for the 2006 New York State Justin Rookie! I won! We showed her for 2 years, then I started showing the horse my Mom showed for a year, “Minnie” (Lopin Dandy Dee). We were Reserve Champion at Congress in BOTH Youth Western Pleasure 12-14 and Novice Youth Western Pleasure 13 and Under in 2008. I’ll never forget that weekend! I currently have 3 show horses (well, 2 active horses, one is laid up for a bit) Minnie and Moonlite for Me, who will be shown as a maiden 2 year old at Congress 2010. I can’t imagine NOT showing, and I hope I can continue to do it forever. People always ask what is your favorite show? That is really hard to answer! I used to always say CONGRESS, but after the first year in Florida over Christmas, well, thats a great time too. Then we started going to Youth Worlds and The Reichert, and even although its always HOT in Oklahoma, I have to say that The Reichert Celebration ranks right at the top, for many reasons. Thanks to Cruel Girl and the Reichert family for putting on the Youth Team Tournament and funding the scholarship program.

Brookelynn Baber

Brookelynn Baber is the 15 year old daughter of Cherie and Gary Baber of Owasso, Oklahoma. She is a 10th grader at the Owasso Mid High School. Her passion is showing her horses Rio and Molly. She has been riding horses since she was 5 years old and has won numerous awards for both English and Western Pleasure. She also enjoys competing at Owasso Roundup Club Playdays and the Tulsa State Fair, where she won 1st place in Team Penning 2009. Brookelynn is a member of the Tulsa 4H horse club, as well as the Oklahoma Pinto and Paint Horse Associations. When not riding, Brookelynn is playing softball or hanging out with her friends. She participated in the Reichert Celebration for the first time this year and won the $500 scholarship for second place. She is a proud supporter of good horsemanship and loves sharing her knowledge and experience with other horse lovers!

Colton Cruse

My name is Colton Cruse.  I am 15 years old.  I'm a freshman at Santa Fe High School.  I started riding and showing horses when I was 9 years old.  When I am not riding horses I enjoy playing baseball and basketball. My parents are Lonnie and Debbie Cruse.  I will graduate in 2014.

My name is Josie Copley, and I am 17 years old and am a Senior at Owasso High School in Oklahoma, graduating in May of 2011. I enjoy being on the varsity dance team, showing horses, and hanging out with my friends. I am a member of the Rogers County 4-H Horse Club where I am the club President. My first horses’ name was Murphy, a Palomino gelding, that I began showing when I was 10. Last year my parents bought me Flowers Investment (AKA Packer), he is a 9 year old Chestnut Gelding. Packer is definitely the definition of a “gentle giant”. My future goals are to attend Iowa State University and major in Business Management, I hope to do internships with the Iowa State football team and come out of college specializing in Sports Management. Participating in the Team Tournament was a very fun and an excellent opportunity to meet kids from all over the United States as well as Canada. I’d especially like to thank the Reichert Family for putting this show on as well as supporting youth education. I’d also like to thank Cinch and Cruel Girl for donating the shirts and jeans along with all the other sponsors. Thanks Again!

Our biggest accomplishments to date are; circuit champion in the 13 and under horsemanship at the “Big A” in Georgia and semi-finalist at the 2010 Youth World Show in Hunt Seat Equitation. This is my second year competing in the Reichert Youth Team Tournament and I just love it! The Reichert Celebration and the Congress are my two favorite shows because of the fun atmosphere and opportunity to hang out with my friends and meet new people. I would like to thank the Schroeder Family and Cinch and Cruel Girl for their support of this wonderful opportunity.

Along with showing horses, I enjoy hanging out with my friends. I enjoy school and receive straight A’s .I have met lots of new people and have made many new friends along the way. I would like to thank everyone from Reichert for putting The Team Tournament together. I had a great time and I got to meet lots of new people! Also, I would like to thank Cruel Girl and Cinch for donating the clothing. Thank you for this opportunity!

Cody Parrish

Expected Graduation Date: 2013

I am currently a sophomore at Brookwood School in Thomasville, GA. I play football, am active in the youth program at Salem Baptist Church, and my passion is riding and showing horses.

I have been riding all of my life; the first time I showed was in Lead Line at the age of 2. I rode with my Dad when I was just a few months old, and my pony "Bear" was my best buddy. Horses are just a natural part of my life I guess you could say.  My parents, Bret and Candy Parris, train ahd show western pleasure horses, and my Grandparents Dan and Darlene Trein specialize in All-Around horses, and my late Grandfather, Kiff Parrish was an all around cowboy. He did everything from roping to western pleasure to halter.

I currently show in Youth Western Pleasure and Non Pro events.  I have been very fortunate to ride and show some really nice horses that have taught me a lot.  Some of my accomplisgments include: winning the Small Fry Horsemanship at the age of seven at the 2002 All American Quarter Horse Congress, winning the 11 & Under Western Pleasure on RL A Cool Sudden at the 2006 Congress, many top 5 finishes at the Congress, top ten finishes at the AQHA Youth World Show both times showing, numerous NSBA Futurity Championships and the 2009 NSBA High Point Intermediate Non Pro Rider.

I would like to thank the Reichert Celebration, Cinch and Cruel Girl for giving us the chance to compete in a fun event that promotes team competition, positive attitudes, and most importantly promotes education.  This is a great opportunity for us as youth exhibitors. Thank you!!

Nicholas Bunn

Hello my name is Nicholas Bunn.  I am 15 years old and currently attend Allegan High School as a sophomore in Allegan, Michigan.  I play tennis for my school and play guitar outside of school.

I started showing POA's when I was eight years old with a pony named Plaudit's Love Bug, which belonged to my Aunt Robin. I then started showing a pony named Skip 'n Gold, who was owned by Shaun Segar. It was then my mom decided to purchase our first pony, Santee Shawnee. He was my pony for around 3 years and really helped me get my act together.  However, everyone continues to age, and it was time for me to get a pony that was more suitable for a 13-18 rider. Which is how I came to ride the pony I do today, Nick's Spittin' Image. Nick is owned by my Aunt Jan and Uncle Harry Chestnut, who are very involved in POAs and have been for a very long time.  I started riding Nick when I was 12 years old and so far it's been a blast.  I was extremely afraid of riding a stallion.  I had seen other stallions buck and kick and do all sorts of things, but when I got on him for the first time, he did everything right for me. He was calm and knews I was a little afraid.  Of course we have our moments today, but hey, who doesn't? We've won many things together and hope to win a lot more.  I have absolutely loved showing POAs and the friendships I have had.  Someday I would like to show Appaloosas when I graduate out from POAs.  It was our first time at the Reichert Celebration and we plan to  be back next year as well as many other shows. So watch out for Nick-N-Nick!

My parents: Mom- Susan K. Smith-Bunn, Allegan Michigan, Dad - John Bunn, Grapevin, Texas

Raeann Chesney Hostetter

My name is Raeann Chesney Hostetter and I live in Lexington, Virginia. My birthday is October 26, 1998, lam 11 years old. My parents are Randy and Lisa Hostetter. l have on older sister, Brittany, and one older brother, Michael. I enjoy playing basketball, listening to music and talking on the phone but must of all I love showing horses.

I have been showing in the big shows for almost three years now. I thank my Dad and Mom for letting me grow up in an environment with horses. It's kind of funny actually- I grew up around horses but never wanted to ride. One day I finally decided I wanted to ride and I have to say I loved it; I've been riding ever since. A couple of years later my Dad took me to a horse trainer, his name was Donnie Dickerson. l have trained under Donnie for two years. We have traveled to many new places and accomplished a lot together. Last year l had the opportunity to compete in my first Reichert Celebration and my first Quarter Horse Congress. I have had so much fun at these shows and met a lot of new friends. I wouldn't trade my experiences for the world. I plan to continue showing and one day I hope to become a trainer after college (I wonder if Donnie will be hiring when I'm ready to train? HaHa). My high school graduation date is 2017.

Thank you to the Reichert Celebration and all involved who put this show together. I greatly appreciate your time and hard work that went in to this amazing show.

Mckenzie Gee

My name is Mckenzie Gee. I’m the daughter of Janet Gee and the late Curtis Lee Gee and I will graduate in May of 2011. I’ve shown POAs for six seasons. The majority of my youth career has been spent in POAC, but I hope to progress to AQHA as an amateur. Accomplishments within the POAC include International Championships and Reserves in Showmanship, Senior Trail, Western Riding, Western Pleasure, Bareback Horsemanship, and Futurity Hunter Under Saddle, respectively. The POAC doesn’t have a World show, so any sort of championship at the International level is comparable.

Outside of showing, I’m an active member of the National FFA Organization, and currently serve as the South Central Kansas District President. Also, during my free time, I award grants to community-centered organizations as secretary of the South Central Community Foundation. Additionally, I’m secretary of the National POAC Youth Advisory Board.

Next year I plan to attend Kansas State University and major in a field of science. Upon receiving an undergraduate degree, I will apply to veterinary school in hopes of eventually gaining a specialty in equine sports medicine. Showing has taught me a lot about ambition, adventure, and goals – lessons that kids outside the industry don’t get to have. As an equine veterinarian, I wish to give back to the industry that has given so much to me.
